Lower Reed Lake is still covered with snow and ice. (6-7-04)

I think I've been taking too many pictures of Byers lately. This one is from the top of Lazy Mountain, which I climbed this morning in less than ideal weather. It was a fast Lazy trip; I got up and down in one hour and twenty-two minutes.

In the shadow of the mountain.... (5-22-04)

The snow is almost gone, and the snow that is left is really variable. Here I'm taking my chances on a slope around 30 degrees. (5-22-04)

Valdez, Alaska during spring break. We went to Valdez for three days to go skiing, but got skunked; it snowed the entire time we were there. (3-27-04)

Even on telemark skis, the occasional straightline is necessary. Independence Bowl 3-21-04.

Microdot, where I skiied on the thirteenth, as seen from above Independence Mine. (3-18-04)

I skiied a little ways up Microdot today with my telemark gear. I fell a lot coming down. (3-13-04)

High School Graduation Qualifying exams were being given to sophomores today, so I didn't have to go to school until 11:40. I used that extra time to ski up to the base of Friendship Pass above Independence Mine. This photo was taken looking South towards the valley at 4,050 feet. (2-18-04).

It was 20 degrees and sunny this morning, which felt so warm I headed up to Lazy Mountain. (2-2-04)

The barbequeing must go on, even when it's 0 degrees Farenheit and snowing.
